Supporting ethical and sustainable coffee farming is important to us here at Gros Morne Coffee Roasters, which is why we source the majority of our coffee beans from Café Femenino.

Women farmers are essential to the success of the coffee industry; however, much of the time they are exploited and undercompensated, and women in rural coffee communities are particularly vulnerable in this male-dominated industry. Café Femenino is a gender-focused program created to “support social justice and empowerment for women coffee producers worldwide.” Café Femenino cooperatives must meet strict standards that guarantee social and economic equity for the women they employ.
